 At My Interpreting Service, we believe ethical practice extends beyond following a code of conduct. Ethical decision-making requires professional judgment, thoughtful reflection, and a commitment to strengthening communication access and supporting meaningful participation.

Our approach integrates professional standards with research-informed practice, collaboration, and continuous learning across interpreting, mentoring, consulting, teaching, assessment, and program development.

 We recognize that professional standards provide an essential foundation for ethical practice. At the same time, no code of conduct can anticipate every situation. Ethical decision-making requires both adherence to professional standards and thoughtful consideration of how those standards are applied within the context of each unique interaction, relationship, and system. 

We consider the language, communication, learning, professional, and participation needs of the individuals involved. We avoid one-size-fits-all solutions and remain responsive to each person’s goals, experiences, and circumstances.
